What We Believe
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” Romans 10:15
We declare the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe and declare that God is a Trinity of three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit – yet one God. We believe that God the Father is awesome and over all; that there is only one living and true Heavenly Father.
We believe and declare that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, that He was born of a virgin and that He lived on earth as a human man. That He had no sin in Him, that He was crucified and died for all our sins as a perfect sacrifice. He was buried, victoriously resurrected from death, sin and separation from God.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is always present in the believer to comfort, strengthen and direct him, according to God’s will. That He is the essential power for the church in all activities and ministries.
We believe that the world and all that is in it are created by the personal action of our God. We believe that the story of creation as told in the Bible is true, and that it happened just as the Bible says it happened.
We believe that man has a fallen nature, and that salvation from the penalty of sin is provided solely by the Grace of God. We believe that our salvation is based solely on Christ’s dying for our sins.
We believe that baptism by immersion is a public declaration of our commitment to Christ as our Lord and Savior. We believe that the Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion, is a symbol of our Lord’s sacrificial death for our sins and is a remembrance of His love for us.
We believe that sanctification means we’re “set apart”, for God’s honor and use. We believe that the process of sanctification begins with salvation and continues throughout the saved person’s life. This process of growing in holiness toward moral and spiritual perfection is enabled by the presence of the Holy Spirit dwelling in the saved person.
We believe every Christian is under obligation to seek to make the will of Christ supreme in his own life and in human society, seeking peace with all men. The Christian should oppose, in the spirit of Christ, every form of evil, greed, selfishness, and vice. He should foster good, working to provide for the orphaned, needy, aged, helpless, and sick. He should seek to bring society as a whole, and business and government, into the principles of righteous behavior, truth and brotherly love.
We believe that heaven is the dwelling place of God and eternal residence for believers in His Son, Jesus Christ; that hell is a place prepared by God for satan and his servants.
We believe that the Church is composed of all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ; that the Church exists to glorify God, reach the unsaved with the good news of salvation, support and strengthen our fellow believers through fellowship and love.
We believe that one day our Lord Jesus Christ will return to this earth and establish His Kingdom. All who have received Him by faith shall reign with Him forever.
